Shanghai IUGIS Carbon Industry Co., Ltd. specializes in supplying various graphite products, including graphite blocks, graphite seals, bearings, sliders, blades and various impregnated graphites, which are widely used in pumps and valves, mechanical seals, automotive parts and other industries.
Quality Control---Ensuring Every graphite products is Safe and Reliable
We are well aware that graphite products are widely used in critical applications such as high precision, high load, high temperature, and high corrosion. Therefore, our company has established a comprehensive quality management system covering the entire process including raw material procurement, production process, finished product inspection, and shipment traceability to ensure that each product has stable and reliable performance and consistent quality.
I. Raw Material Quality Control
1. Careful Selection of Raw Material Suppliers
We only work with high-quality ISO-certified graphite raw material suppliers with a long-standing track record of cooperation to ensure that core indicators such as carbon content, ash content, and porosity of the base materials meet high standards.
2. Incoming Material Batch Inspection
All incoming raw materials are batch-numbered and samples are retained. The following tests are performed:
Carbon content analysis (≥99.9%)
Ash content (≤0.1%)
Bulk density and particle size distribution testing
Microstructure analysis (to assess graphite uniformity and crystal integrity)
II. Production Process Quality Control
1. Standardized Operating Procedure (SOP)
Every process, from cutting, pressing, sintering, impregnation, machining, to cleaning, is strictly controlled and managed according to the SOP. Operators must be certified to minimize human error.
2. Multi-point Monitoring During the Process
Real-time Dimension Monitoring: Key dimensions (such as outer diameter, thickness, and sealing surface flatness) are measured using laser measurement or a three-dimensional coordinate measuring machine.
Equipment Status Monitoring: An automatic processing parameter recording system is used to implement closed-loop control of temperature, speed, pressure, and other indicators.
Inter-process Inspection Mechanism: Inspectors are assigned at each key node to check for surface defects, hardness, and structural consistency.
III. Finished Product Inspection Standard System
1. Combined Full Inspection and Spot Checking: All products leaving the factory undergo 100% visual inspection and 30%-50% spot check of key indicators.
2. Comprehensive Inspection Coverage
Dimensional Accuracy Inspection: Micrometer, Caliper, Coordinate Measuring Machine
Density and Porosity Testing: Assessing Density and Corrosion Resistance
Compressive Strength Testing: Simulates Actual Loading Conditions
Electrical/Thermal Conductivity Verification: Applicable to EDM Graphite and Graphite for Hot Field Applications
Friction Coefficient and Wear Testing: Applicable to Sliding Parts such as Bearings and Seals
3. Surface Quality Inspection: Inspect for Defects such as Cracks, Delamination, Burrs, and Chipped Corners
Specialized Review of Impregnated Graphite to Ensure Surface Uniformity and Residual Impurities
IV. Special Product Quality Control
1. Impregnated Graphite Inspection Process
For impregnated graphite (such as antimony impregnation, resin impregnation, and copper/silver/alloy impregnation), the following methods are used:
Impregnation Uniformity Analysis: Observation by Section and Microscope Imaging
Metal or Resin Content Comparison: Elemental Analysis Comparison with Standards
Density and Corrosion Resistance Testing: Simulates a corrosive environment to assess acid and alkali resistance
2. Specialized Inspection Process for High-Precision Parts
For high-precision graphite components used in vacuum pumps, magnetic pumps, rotary seals, and other applications, we have established specialized quality inspection procedures:
Dynamic/static friction testing
Dynamic balancing (for rotating graphite parts)
Alignment testing: simulates assembly structure to verify seal fit
V. Shipping Inspection and Packaging Control
1. Factory Review
Each batch of products is reviewed again before shipment to verify the customer's drawings, specifications, tolerances, materials, and quantity.
2. Packaging Specifications
Precision graphite parts are packaged in special foam boxes, vacuum bags, wooden crates, and other shock-resistant packaging.
Fragile products are labeled with anti-tipping, anti-pressure, and anti-moisture labels.
Each batch is accompanied by a complete factory inspection report, material specifications, and a traceability number.
Provide you with the best solution and refuse to waste resources.
